FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT Jake Taylor [email protected] Denver - As Coloradans deal with the economic downturn caused by the pandemic, the Colorado Energy Foundation, which is supported by Colorado’s oil and natural gas industry, announced today a donation of $37,500 to Energy Outreach Colorado. Energy Outreach Colorado, established in 1989, helps thousands of Coloradans meet their energy needs and believes all Coloradans deserve affordable access to resources that power their homes. In 2019 alone, Energy Outreach Colorado received over 150,000 calls from people seeking urgent assistance with their past-due energy bills. “Energy Outreach Colorado is the only non-profit in Colorado that raises money to help low-income households afford their energy costs. We believe that this is a basic necessity and that everyone should have a warm and safe home. With this generous support, the Colorado Energy Foundation has demonstrated their commitment to ensuring that Coloradans have access to energy security for their homes, and that no one is living in the dark without heat,” said Tess Richey, Director of Development, Energy Outreach Colorado. “The oil and natural gas industry has long been committed to the communities where we live and work, and we’re thrilled to support Energy Outreach Colorado. Access to clean, affordable energy is a luxury that is often taken for granted. Nobody should have to experience the insecurity of not being able to afford the energy needed to power their homes, especially during this time of great uncertainty,” said Dan Haley, President and CEO of the Colorado Oil & Gas Association. Director of the Colorado Energy Foundation Sara Reynolds added: “Reliable energy is not always guaranteed for all, this is why we are proud to support a nonprofit like Energy Outreach Colorado, helping Colorado families who may be struggling to pay their bills, and individuals that otherwise are forced to choose between heat and utilities, or prescriptions, food and other basic necessities.” The Colorado Energy Foundation has raised over $150,000 to be distributed to its cohort of community partners on behalf of the oil and natural gas industry. For vulnerable Coloradans facing uncertain incomes and who worry about keeping their power on, please consider donating to Energy Outreach Colorado here. About the Colorado Energy Foundation The Colorado Energy Foundation was incorporated in 2019 as a supporting organization of the Colorado Oil & Gas Association.
