FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Oil and Natural Gas Industry Takes Corporate Social Responsibility to New Heights CONTACT Scott Prestidge [email protected] DENVER – Oil and natural gas companies and their employees in Colorado have consistently given back to the communities where they live and work through volunteer efforts, community leadership and philanthropic giving. According to the Colorado Oil & Gas Association’s second annual Community Impact Report, COGA members gave more than $17 million to non-profits throughout the state over the past year. The report includes data from the 62 member-companies who responded to a request for non-profit donations and volunteer hours. It demonstrates the corporate efforts that are assisting families in need, advancing health care research, improving educational opportunities, and continually serving the communities where Colorado’s oil and natural gas workforce live and work. “For many years, the oil and gas industry has gone above and beyond in supporting our mission with generous philanthropic outreach and countless volunteer hours, all of which directly impact our ability to shape, change and save lives,” said Terry Adams, Executive Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County, the beneficiary of this year’s COGA Mardi Gras Ball. “We are grateful for the relationship that the Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County has with the Colorado Oil & Gas Association and its members.” Highlights from the report include: • Over $17 million in non-profit donations; • 700+ Colorado non-profit organizations and programs served in 2018; • 70,993 volunteer hours to Colorado organizations; • 200 bicycles built and donated; • 2,500+ backpacks filled with school supplies and donated to Colorado youth; • Over 250,000 meals prepared, packaged and served; • 5,000+ toys donated; • Over $9,000 raised in 2018 by the COGA Team for the Courage Classic and the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation; • $176,630 raised at COGA’s Mardi Gras Ball and donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County in 2019. “COGA’s members have demonstrated leadership on issues that Coloradans care about – not just through words, but through action – investing millions each year and volunteering thousands of hours,” said COGA President and CEO Dan Haley. “This report showcases the overwhelming commitment of COGA’s members and their employees to Colorado, and the profound impact of their work in our own backyard.” About COGA Founded in 1984, the Colorado Oil & Gas Association’s (COGA) mission is to foster and promote the beneficial, efficient, responsible and environmentally sound development, production and use of Colorado oil and natural gas. COGA is a nationally recognized trade association that aggressively promotes the expansion of Rocky Mountain natural gas markets, supply, and transportation infrastructure through its growing and diverse membership.
